Yolanda came to the USA in the summer of 1967 from Italy with her whole family. She was trained in Italy as a beautician, and soon became a favorite in women's circles. After several trips to Italy accompanying her parents, she immediately fell in love with the travel industry and began freelancing with a local travel agency in her spare time. Her business in the travel industry was growing steadily, and soon she was faced with the dilemma of opening her own agency, and indeed she did so in 1984.
Yolanda opened up “Wooster Street Travel” next to her beauty salon on Wooster Street, in the heart of New Haven's Little Italy. And soon it became a favorite of the large Italian-American population of the Greater New Haven area. The travel business had grown so big that Yolanda decided to sell her beauty salon and concentrate on her travel industry.
In a relatively short time, Wooster Street Travel became a favorite amongst those who loved to travel back to Italy in search of their roots.
