“LEGENDS OF THE WILD: 7-DAYS JOURNEY THROUGH AFRICA’S GREATEST PARKS”
Published: 27 Oct 2024
Day 1 starts with your arrival in Tanzania, where you'll be welcomed and transferred to Manyara Wildlife Lodge. This full-board accommodation near Lake Manyara provides an excellent starting point for your safari. Settle into the peaceful surroundings, preparing for an incredible journey through Tanzania's wildlife and landscapes.
On Day 2, you set off to explore Tarangire National Park, established in 1970 and spanning 2,850 square kilometers. Known for its herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers sweeping savannahs and seasonal rivers that draw a variety of wildlife. Watch for zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, lions, and the rare fringe-eared oryx. After a picnic lunch in the heart of this scenic park, return to Farm of Dreams for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 takes you to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site established in 1951, the Serengeti covers 14,763 square kilometers and is famed for the Great Migration. As you traverse its plains, you may spot the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and the elusive black rhino. With a landscape that shifts from grasslands to acacia woodlands, the Serengeti is a captivating backdrop for unforgettable wildlife sightings. Enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site before arriving at Seronera Wildlife Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
On Day 4, delve into the eastern Serengeti, home to cheetahs, hyenas, hartebeests, and elands. This region’s vast plains and distinctive kopjes offer a blend of grasslands and rocky outcrops where predators often roam. After a day of exploration and a picnic lunch, return to Seronera Wildlife Lodge for dinner and another night under the Serengeti stars.
Day 5 begins with a journey from the Serengeti to the historic Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site known as the "Cradle of Mankind." Discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey in the 1950s, this gorge reveals fossils and artifacts dating back millions of years. Learn about early human history and the significant findings here before continuing to Farm of Dreams for dinner and a restful evening.
Day 6 is dedicated to Ngorongoro Crater, a 2-3 million-year-old caldera teeming with life. The 600-meter-deep crater supports a high concentration of wildlife within its 19-kilometer expanse. With grassy plains, acacia forests, and freshwater lakes, the crater hosts elephants, lions, hippos, black rhinos, and over 500 bird species. After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, return to Farm of Dreams for dinner and an overnight stay.
On Day 7, savor your last morning with a choice of two enriching experiences: a Maasai Village Tour or a coffee tour at Ngilla Coffee Farm Estate. The Maasai Village Tour provides a glimpse into the culture and daily life of the Maasai, while the coffee tour allows you to learn about coffee production and taste fresh Tanzanian coffee. This farewell day captures the heart of Tanzania’s landscapes, wildlife, and people before you depart, carrying memories of an extraordinary adventure.
