Arrival Day – Welcome to Ethiopia (Addis Ababa)
Welcome to , the vibrant capital of Ethiopia. Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short city orientation or relax after your journey. Alternatively, you may take a domestic connection flight to Gondar to begin your northern adventure immediately.

Day 1: Addis Ababa – Gondar – Simien Mountains National Park
Take a scenic morning flight to , known as the “Camelot of Africa.” Upon arrival, drive to , a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for dramatic escarpments and endemic wildlife.
In the afternoon, enjoy your first trekking experience, spotting wildlife such as Gelada baboons, Walia ibex, and various bird species.
Overnight: Debark (gateway to the Simien Mountains)
Day 2: Debark – Chenek – Gondar
After breakfast, drive deeper into the Simien Mountains to the Chenek trekking point, one of the best locations for wildlife viewing and panoramic landscapes. Enjoy guided trekking with chances to see the endangered Walia ibex and breathtaking highland scenery.
In the afternoon, return to Gondar for relaxation or optional cultural exploration.

Day 3: Gondar – Lalibela (Flight)

Day 4: Lalibela – Semera (Drive)

Day 5: Semera – Afdera – Dallol
Drive through the Afar region to Lake Afdera, known for its salt mining activities. Continue to the surreal landscapes of , one of the hottest and lowest places on Earth.
Explore colorful sulfur formations, salt flats, and unique geothermal features.
Overnight: Camping near Dallol
Day 6: Dallol – Erta Ale Volcano
Travel across the Danakil Depression to , home to one of the world’s few permanent lava lakes.
In the evening, begin a guided trek to the summit. Witness the glowing lava lake under the stars—an unforgettable natural spectacle.

Day 7: Erta Ale – Semera – Addis Ababa
Descend from Erta Ale early in the morning and drive back to Semera. Take a domestic flight to Addis Ababa. Spend the evening at leisure or enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner with music and dance.

Day 8: Addis Ababa – Jinka (Omo Valley)
Fly to , the gateway to the Omo Valley. Visit the nearby Mursi tribe, known for their unique lip plates and traditional lifestyle.

Day 9: Jinka – Karo Tribe – Hamer Tribe (Turmi)
Drive through the Omo Valley to visit the Karo tribe, famous for body painting and riverside settlements. Continue to meet the Hamer tribe, known for their vibrant ceremonies and traditional customs.

Day 10: Turmi – Wolayta Sodo
Depart Turmi and journey north through scenic landscapes toward . This is a transition day, allowing you to experience rural Ethiopia, local markets, and village life along the route.

Day 11: Wolayta Sodo – Bale Mountains National Park
Travel to , one of Africa’s top biodiversity hotspots.
Enjoy trekking to Tulu Dimtu, Ethiopia’s second-highest peak, and explore the stunning Sanetti Plateau, home to rare wildlife and alpine landscapes.
Overnight: Bale Robe
Day 12: Bale Mountains – Addis Ababa (Departure)
Early morning excursion to the Sodota (Sanetti Plateau) area to spot the endangered Ethiopian wolf in its natural habitat. Afterward, return to Robe for lunch.
In the afternoon, take a domestic flight back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy last-minute shopping or cultural experiences before your airport transfer.
