Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at Kigali & travel to Queen Elizabeth NP via Katuna border
On arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Rwanda, meet your driver for a warm welcome to the Land of a Thousand Hills. He will also take you through briefing about the 6 days gorilla trek, Queen Elizabeth & Lake Bunyonyi safari then you begin your adventure journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) via Katuna border to Kabale. Today’s journey covers 5-6 hours and a 4x4 safari vehicle with ultimate comfort will be used for your road trip from Kigali to Queen Elizabeth National Park- Uganda’s second biggest National Park with land area coverage of 1978sq.kms.

Day 2: A morning game drive, boat cruise Kazinga channel 40kms stretch
With an early rise, enjoy a heavy breakfast at a comfortable place of stay and after, meet the driver guide fully ready for guided game drive via Kasenyi Plains. In a 4x4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof, expect excellent view of early risers and most importantly large mammals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, plus other species especially antelopes like Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, etc. This is a special 3-4 hours’ game viewing in the sweeping savanna plains of Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Afternoon activity includes a remarkable treat from boat cruise on Kazinga channel 40kms. For 2-3 hours while exploring the magical Kazinga channel that links Lake George and Lake Edward, expect an incredible view of hippos, Nile crocodiles, aquatic birds at your display. The aquatic birds to sight range from fish eagles, African skimmers, hornbills, cormorants, yellow billed stork to kingfishers, etc. All evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay back at the pre-booked accommodation.

Day 3: To Bwindi via Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up for an early breakfast, then check out of the lodge and your driver will transfer you at Ishasha. At Ishasha sector, a special in the wild awaits you with ultimate view of relaxed tree climbing lions at the fig trees. A range of other wildlife will be among your sightings such elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, birds and after a mini game drive, we proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with over 459 mountain gorillas.

Day 4: Gorilla trek & Lake Bunyonyi -Kabale (for ultimate relaxation)
After breakfast, today is a special day to meet mountain gorillas and you will begin your day with briefing on gorilla trekking rules then get a gorilla family assigned to you, plus a park guide. It is unpredictable adventure and we advise you not to forget packed lunch and water. The normal trek starts at 8:00am and a well-trained park guide takes lead expecting to take 2-6 hours navigating via Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and as you search for these large apes, other species including birds will be spotted.
Once gorillas have been met, one hour of a close encounter begins and you should take as many pictures as you, observe how they behave, etc. Return afterwards and at the park offices, gorilla trekking certificates will be provided then go check out of the lodge ready to drive to Lake Bunyonyi -enjoy long evening relaxation at cool shores of the Lake.

Day 5: Canoe trek/ride on Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi is a unique freshwater Lake of its own, boasting of 29 islands and also free of crocodiles, hippos. You will explore this magnificent natural wonder in Kabale on a canoe trek to one of the islands with bird sightings expected plus breathtaking view in the surrounding. In the evening, relax or visit the Batwa or Bakiga community on cultural walk.

Day 6: Transfer to Kigali/Kampala -end of Uganda safari
